I have been batting ideas around with Jennie Alexander, my green woodworking mentor, on a combination low workbench with an integrated shaving horse. Links to related articles on Jennie’s site.
I will start by documenting the construction of the low bench with tapered legs coming through the bench top; Jennie and I talked about putting on tail and side vices/clamps on one end of the bench. Finally, to integrate a shaving horse on the other end of the bench. This extended bench project might very well take up the full two weeks of a Summer workshop. On the other hand, many processes and skills would be learned in its construction.
