A single 9-foot white oak rod is steam-bent into a circumference with a 3-foot diameter, with large beads threaded onto it. Lewis Hyde’s book, The Gift: Imagination and the Erotic Life of Property, greatly influenced the creation of this piece. In the book, he describes a totem of good faith and prosperity being passed in a given order and time frame from one clan or family group to another within the larger tribe or nation.
